I see plenty of conversation about the 6k and 12k EG4 variants, but what’s up with the 8k and 10k?
It seems like the 8k or 10k could be good machines for people like me who fall between 6k and 12k. I don’t need the features and expense of the 12k, but I have a hybrid electric tank hot water heater that’s probably too much for the 6k. Also, the 6k can only do 50A of passthrough while the 10k can do 80A (or is it 90a? I’m not sure whether to go by input power or bypass relay rating). For me, with my hybrid tank heater, that’s the difference between a critical loads panel vs a most-of-house standard panel. I don’t need the full 200a that the 12k can do, since I have a second panel for high drain electrical (tankless water heater/dryer/stove).
