Off-Grid Vacation Home Swap?

Hi there,

I’m just wondering if anyone has heard of a Off-Grid only vacation home swap.

We enjoy the idea of going and vacationing somewhere off-grid and we’ve heard of vacation home swaps but always worry that someone who doesn’t know anything about off-grid living will unknowingly do something that requires our attention.

Anyone know of vacation swap sites for off-griders?

My personal observation is only the builder of the system properly monitors/cares for the system. Visitors, presented with the idea of free solar electricity, tend to drain the system to the crash level.

I've been home exchanging for years. Educating the people staying in your house on HOW to live there is a big part of it. My house has had unique fixtures and we always leave an extensive guide as well as our phone number for emergencies. I've never exchanged a fully off grid home, but if your system is mostly stable and it's just a matter of power management, then you should be okay with just making sure they know not to run the AC at 65* all day and night.
