Terrible Signature Solar / EG4 18Kpv Experience - Returning and Replaced with Sol-Ark 15k

Will installed his 18k about 2 months after I installed my Sol ark 15k. I’m at 8Mw-H through mine and he’s not far behind…I think we need to wait and see whos fails first to answer this question once and for all. Stay tuned for an answer in the next 10 years.

People hate it when a product works for me. I try to break everything but sometimes they work
I'd rather you stay true to real life than the crap I see other youtube folks do.

"It failed horribly and left us without power!"
(I turned off the wrong breaker and it was to the inverter)

"Sparks were coming out everywhere"
(I didn't have the nuts tight on the battery leads)

"We almost died from installing it"
(I got a paper cut from the lid on the case during the install)

Since everyone clicks failures most youtubers are drama queen/click baiters from hell.

I'd rather see real world stuff like your stuff any day vs that crap.

Don't change a thing !

We are literally running them full load 24/7 lol

??? thank you!!

That's what I like to hear! :)
BUYER BEWARE!!!!! IF YOU BUY A EG4 18 KPV People who don't have one will try to get you too load it up as high as you can to see if you can get it to overload, then laugh at you. You can post videos showing what it will handle, some will all ways question your results.
As an owner of one, I know first hand its the best inverter EG4 ever had there name on, thanks to the partner of Lux Power and there support. It's like having a nice race car, every one wants to see you do burn outs in hopes you break it. Misery loves company.

LOL! Yeah I can see that!

I noticed that when there is a little drama like my original video on the EG4 charge controller that was very critical about support, it gets way more views than the followup where I talk about the firmware and how to install the firmware.

Don't know if people are just looking for cheap entertainment and drama.

It's what we're primed for.....

Personally, for me it is like Amazon reviews. 5-Star reviews are meaningless, especially when they are pithy "works great." I'm not trying to find fault or just see bad news, but the negative things that stood out in an otherwise positive experience are meaningful.

That said... with this thing the issues seem to just be about firmware or arguably about expectations. I am curious and might need to seek out some reviews on monitoring/control experiences because installation and general purpose operation seem to be a slam dunk. I just can't ascertain if the system can easily operate the way I want it to-- sensitive to real-time pricing.

I too have a LuxPower SNA 5k unit. That unit is a beast and handled effortlessly everything I threw at it!!
The only thing that bugs me is the occasional flicker from hybrid output when the day comes to an end.

Wattsup, I hop you can get all the issues straightend out with your ? storm dealing with S.S.., that you have been patiently trying to accomplish.
.
And here I am, out in the woods, doing my watchmans job, day in, year out...almost feel greatful, that I can't afford the all in one units.
I would be really stuck. I get to drive, sometimes a few miles, sometimes more, just to get phone signal.( depends on jobsite location.
Also, not having a physical address, makes it a challenge, just to receive anything if I could order things. LOL
Anyhow,,, I hope your situation is resolved soon and your solar panels learn to see in the dark?☕

Apparently, that does fewer MWH per week than a 10kw battery charger.

honestly, on a personal level, it is good to know that I have significantly under 10kW of ego
You know I am taking the piss as we say in the UK.
But seriously, you need to have bags of confidence to run such a leading edge business in tough times.
I genuinely believe hard work and good luck go hand in hand.
OK, enough sucking up !!!!

From a load perspective the big EG4 unit handles everything I've thrown at the two I have in parallel. Until just recently I've had my total load routinely exceed 75A for intervals of an hour or so particularly when I am charging my EV. I built the system to meet my max demand. It's also surprisingly quiet and boasts a phenomenal environmental operational spec. I run the unit in an off-grid configuration, and just got a new firmware to address another edge case issue. I've noticed the time gap between issues cropping up is starting to widen, so I think the unit is starting to get fairly stable, and I hope we will see new firmware start addressing needed features rather than performance issues. The biggest issues I see now are graceful handling of batteries/errors.

My units have been running pretty much 24x7 for the last 4 months. Direct support via phone has been hit or miss, support thru the folks on this forum has been outstanding. I keep reading about all these folks that seem to want some mythical DIY experience with a solar that works like hooking up a flat screen from Best Buy, with an amp, a sub-woofer and some speakers. If this is your expectation, you may want to re-think DIY and have someone install it for you. Further these big 50A units are still very new, so like I said in another post, it will likely be next spring before the firmware gets really robust. I think at this point, though there may still be some issues, they are not going to be show-stoppers, just annoyances.

And I'm not a shill either, but I can say this pair of units, even with the few issues I've had (that have thus far all been addressed and hopefully corrected) are miles above the 5x20A AIO units I started with.
