Cheapest 48v 50ah battery I've found so far. $409.99 free shipping

I see a QR code peeking up on the BMS between the blue and black wires. Any chance you can scan it and post the results?
Thanks for the photos!
Unfortunately I already intalled the unit and dont really wish to drag it back out of the cart to get a shot of that QR code, I'll see if it is there on the second unit when it comes in.

How much current draw do you need to provide for your golf cart ?

At 25 Amps per battery…………
48v carts draw around 50-70amps on the regular to power the 3hp motor but require more for initial movement, going up hill or continuous wide open throttle. First tests with just the single unit allowed me to run it around at a moderate accerleration and speed and even went WOT for a brief stretch without tripping the BMS. I did not try any lengthy hill pulls because if it does trip, I need to push it back up the hill and to the house to hook to the charger to reset. I havent built by step up yet to reset. I will test that once I get my second pack in. In the brief time of driving the cart I have been pleasantly surprised by the pack. The pack is rated at 50A continuous with 200A peak for 10 seconds.

Well that should make you a happy German ?.

Glad to hear it, guten tag.

We will see... the second unit was delivered today. I'll check it out once I get back and as justgary requested, will see if the BMS' QR code is present and what it says when I scan it. Seems like y'all slept on that coupon. hopefully it will come back with a discount for black friday.

Ok had to edit this as it changed after I posted about it. First was a split phase inverter on ebay and then it changed to an alibaba link on a battery after I reply quoted it :)

Yeah the link didn't copy over my last copy. It's on AliExpress and I never bought anything from them before. I may buy a 12v100ah from them and see how it does. $150 risk but better than a $411 mistake I guess.

Also I soooo would love to know those were legit for 48v 100ah as I'd buy a pallet of em :)

That’s pretty cheap. But how good are they?
Don't ask me. Unlike the ones I posted about on Amazon, these ones don't appear to be easily opened and they are from Aliexpress.

The price is good, but I would rather have two of the 50ah for 409.99 from Amazon than deal with these Aliexpress ones. If they were closed with screws, and available on Amazon then I'd be all over them for $799.99 or so and find out.

These look like a contender for a hand truck/cart build. Making them 50ah makes them close to half the weight. I know the weight has been a concern for some, and moving 2-60lb boxes is easier the. 1-100lb box

I got mine but just being handed one by the Fedex driver was enough to trigger my herniated disc (surgery in Jan..) and since then all ive been able to do is get them from under a yoga mat in the rain (sigh..) to inside the hatchback of a car. Still havent opened one pending my pain receding ?

Welcome to the club.

I tore my rotator cuff lifting my 100 Ah battery into place a couple years ago and needed surgery.

I now have a chain lift hanging from the basement rafters when that battery needs moving.

The 100Ah battery I linked in post 33 of this thread is the one that did my shoulder in.

The 50Ah ones I also linked in that post are much easier to move and have not caused me to have further surgery……. Yet ?

Yep, this one surprised me a bit since they dont weigh all that much more than my 5yo daughter who i pick up pretty much every day. Plus i was in a pretty ideal body position! But oh well, the pain has gone down significantly so i might be able to tear into those boxes tonight and see what's up with these batteries. I bought 3, was thinking of adding 2 of them to my house system and using the 3rd in my golf cart. I think they are somewhat limited by the BMS for a golf cart application but i was thinking of having them paralleled with a small 48v lead acid pack, like 4x U1 riding mower batteries, and experimenting with whether that would make the BMS never trip.. just silly ideas i come up with. Since the box is just screwed together i could just upgrade the bms too (or parallel another ~30-50A bms into it for ~$30?!). Time will tell which version of silly i end up with.:sneaky:

So ive got as far as opening the box ? and immediately i can say i REALLY like this form factor!

It is small, the inset handles are located well and give me perfect confidence lifting it that the handles wont break or hurt my hand (unlike what passes for handles on a lot of the 12v stuff), they’re stackable, the weight is manageable (substandard capability from back injury aside..). I havent hooked them up yet but so far id way rather build a system out of something this shape and weight vs the more common server rack form factor. Just my .02.

I got impatient and just paralleled all 3 into my house system. I don't have any separate capacity measurements for them. All i can say is that everything is working fine. They are still 2 for ~800 on Amazon right now. Im considering buying more..

So Will Prowse, what do you think of the Angry German's interior pic of the DC house batt?

Shame the cells are welded. I guess that maintains the status of only SOK, orient, and jakiper being user serviceable
Even the ezeal battery is welded
I think I’d buy 2-4 of these if they were bolted

Not that ive done this by any means but i can imagine use of an end mill to carefully mill through each of the welds if one really wanted to tear this thing down. A lot of effort and.. requires the mill. :p

Honestly, as much as i like the idea of user serviceability in general I kinda feel like, unless there is some kind of guaranteed supply of compatible cells, that the only way you'd be messing with cells is to re-cell the entire thing with a new matched set. I'm more concerned about servicing 'stupid' failures like poor connections causing melting wiring, or a bad bms etc. Those are the kind of failures i perceive (perhaps wrongly?) as more likely, and those are possible just because of the screwed on lid. So i take the bolted lid as being probably 70+% of what i care about in 'serviceability'. Maybe it's an odd opinion.. not sure!
