Yes there was NOTHING between the very thin cardboard and the battery terminals. They ripped right thru. I would assume a very dangerous situation.I'm not any kind of an expert, but this really seems hazardous to me. It's clear the cell terminals were poking through the outside of the box; if they had touched some metal they could have shorted out and caused a fire.
Just stroll into your local BestBuy or office supply store wearing a hazmat suit and gloves and deposit them in the battery recycling binI honestly do not even know what to do with the cells. I fear they are that bad shape. And the boxes are so bad I don't know how I could return them to anyone. Anywhere.
mine are sitting in the back corner of the garage until i hear back from Michael.I honestly do not even know what to do with the cells. I fear they are that bad shape. And the boxes are so bad I don't know how I could return them to anyone. Anywhere.
All of mine except for the punctured one or in the garage along with the boxes.mine are sitting in the back corner of the garage until i hear back from Michael.
The 8 EVE 280ah cells I received from Michael (Basen) last October were packed very well and came in pristine condition. There were no plastic corners on the boxes and of course my cells did not come with laser welded studs. Any supplier should know proper packaging is important and most suppliers have done a good job.I think those are the worst shipped cells I have seen hereI wonder what these sellers in China think is going to happen when people receive their cells like this? The cells shipped by Shenzhen Luyuan Technology are padded to the gills and have plastic corner protectors on the box.. such a striking difference.
I thought about that too. Hope we hear from him soon.He might have pallets of the same destroyed cells. Hopefully he didn't overextend himself.
Yup this seller/supplier needs to be blacklistedWhat I am seeing in this thread is nothing less than terrifying for obvious reasons and I want to know who supplied these cells so that supplier never gets another order from anyone if we can help it.
This is the way cells should be shipped. Cells should be individually Isolated, terminals should be taped if possible, boxes should be sturdy with corner protection. One thing missing that should be there is a FRAGILE sticker, and the required hazmat battery sticker. Not sure how they are getting away with not using the required stickers. My CATL 271 cells arrived today. Ordered 16. 4 were so badly damaged that UPS would not ship them out of Cali to FL. Got the other 3 boxes. None are usable. Leaking Electrolyte. My whole office smells like electrolyte right now. Most or all of the black top areas are badly damaged. Swollen. These should have been deemed bio hazards and not shipped at all. Going to need a full refund
These were billed as New Grade A cells. Yet there are NO QR codes, No labels, leaking and swollen.
This is the 3 boxes of 4 batteries as they arrived.

wish mine would have looked like that when they came in.....This is the way cells should be shipped. Yeah that did not happen. 1 inch of foam on one side (possibly the side and not the top or bottom but honestly I could not tell as the batteries in the boxes were every which way when the arrived) ... AND ... 1 inch of foam in the bottom that had 4 pockets about 1 inch deep for the batteries. In my case, the pocketed part was crushed by the batteries laying all out of place and all over each other. This is the way cells should be shipped.
