Question on running dual mppt controllers on the same battery bank

Alright one controller will run an array of mixed poly panels about 500 watts in parallel. And the other controller will have probably 400 watts of mono panels (4x 100's). Both controllers will be identical. Both controllers will be connected to the same battery bank. Does the second array with mono panels need to also be in parallel or can they be in series? Or even 2s2p.
Why mixed poly in one array - my existing panels, they work just fine on a pwm controller just want to upgrade & take advantage of a better mppt controller now.
Why 4x 100 mono panels in the second - well this isn't in stone but there are some nice 400w kits out there I could expand in the spring with.
Side note my new controller should arrive in a few days & I'm also upgrading the battery bank.
Thanks in advance.

On two separate controllers, the array on one has no effect on the array connected to the second controller.

That is as long as you stay within the current limits of your battery and wiring.
