How's the weather in Finland?
Excellent. My favorite season (Autumn) right now. Can't wait for winter.
Funny thing is the first thing I did when I bought my house in South Carolina was go up on the roof to clean off all the grime and pollen off the solar panels. (House sat for 2 years empty)I haven't seen snow in about 13 years, let alone real snow that stays around. For the longest time I thought that sub tropical weather is a dream come true. Until you try to work on outdoor projects and sweat your boobs off within 5 minutes every time you step into that 85% humidity.
Working on my minivan camper conversion 15 minutes, followed by having to come inside and cool off.
You can dress for the cold, but not for the heat and humidity.

Now I know where the term "cat on a hot tin roof" came from. Had to stop every 10-15min to go back into the AC. How the F folks lived in the south before AC was invented is beyond me.
That being said, My wife is from Sweden, so it's even worse for her.
In any event, I would rather be sitting under a palm tree by the pool sipping a cool drink, than shoveling out the driveway.
That's why I am such a fan of Autumn here: cool weather to work outside (cutting trees to prep for lumber, fishing, hunting, foraging) and no bugs. Still enough sun and light hours to get stuff done.
No need for air conditioning really in summer, even if we have a week or two it gets 'hot' - never unbearable, and plenty of water around to cool down in. Winter can be harsh, but the buildings and heating systems are made for this weather. Plus ice fishing is nice
I miss being able to travel. Travel restrictions, Canadians can fly to US but we can’t drive and testing to get back.
Wonder if it will ever get back to normal.
Our local "bugs" are also no fun. Mosquitos eat me alive as soon as the sun sets. Then we have black widows, brown recluse, gators and or newest addition, Burmese pythons, eating our gators.
Facts are a hard thing for many folks to deal with.Have you ever been to Taiwan?
My company manufacturers all parts in our facility in Taiwan. We are in the carbon fiber tubing business. By 'my company' I don't mean the company I work for, I mean the company that I hold the majority of shares in.
If you would actually know and talk to Taiwanese, those living in Taiwan, and I do exactly that every week, you would quickly understand that they EXPECT to be railed in any time soon.
China won't have to put any boots on the island, they can easily cut off any sea and air travel or force embargoes and tariffs on them. Also, China long expanded its military control in the South sea. They didn't build all those man-made islands for fun. China considers Taiwan to be a part of their republic ever since and Taiwan knows this.
China was a 3rd world shithole in the 70s. They long surpassed our economy. Totally different state.
That white sand looks like Pensicola.I love being at the beach, reason number one why I'm messing around with this minivan camper build. I want to be able to stay the entire day or even over night and not worry about parking my nice cars at the beach, being able to fix some real food, take a nap on a real bed or use my own toilet, without having to drive home.
Its always nice on my local beach no matter how hot it gets, but working in my yard or anything outside is a torture.

We have one venomous snake (a viper), and that's about it. Sure, mosquitoes, horse flies and the like, but nothing that will kill you or will lead to misery if you don't get treatment fast. Bears are usually dealt with with a good shouting:
This is 'old economics' theory! The 'new' or even more simplified 'sharing economics' or even ' go around money economics' is what drives modern economies and while we call it 'new' it is parts of 'old' that escapes logical explanation of economic success. And what do you think will happen when "we" are all a bunch of lazy losers on government's tit, with mostly useless arts degrees, fading innovation, zero competitiveness, a youth that is addicted to staying at home and playing video games, zero skills?

Argentina found out under Peron that forced industrialisation fails without this concept. China capitalised on its industrial progress only after
new economics came into play. Money circulating within China far outweighs the gains in foreign revenue towards better prosperity.
Who wants to be middle class?Having a working middle class means that you are independent from other countries, their competition, and any political extorsion.
Who wants to be middle class?
No one does now. That is why we get stuff from China until they, themselves, start thinking there is more to life.
Billionaires run the world and the laws are made to favor them, it's a corrupt system, Xi Jinping is just another billionaire.
They all got richer in the last 2 years
